Banaue

Banaue is a reference point for approaching Ifugao’s agricultural landscapes. Batad and Bangaan, two UNESCO-inscribed groups, are within its municipality; nearby viewpoints offer a visual introduction but are not a substitute for walking through those sites.

  • Batad’s terraces form a semicircular bowl and involve steep descents and climbs on foot.
  • Bangaan highlights the relationship between a traditional village and its terraces.
  • A viewpoint near Banaue is not the same as visiting Batad or Bangaan on foot.
